Located 105 miles Rio de Janeiro a short, pleasant 2-hour trip will take you to the peninsula of Búzios, which is home to more than 20 magnificent beaches with crystal-clear waters which are complemented in perfect harmony with the sculptured landscape and exotic vegetation. Originally settled by European pirates and slave traders, this historically diverse city enjoyed periods of prosperity and emerged as one of Brazil's most picturesque fishing villages. Buzios was elected one of the 10 most beautiful areas in the world and is famed for its unique combination of rustic charm, distinctive archictecure, incredible allure, and sophisticated restaurants and boutiques. Every year thousands of visitors come all corners of the world to savour the city's magic.

Climate
The climate of the region is less dry semiarid. The average annual temperature is around 21ºC, with average annual high of 28ºC and average annual low of 18ºC.

How to get there
Roads: It takes about 2 hours to get there Rio de Janeiro. After crossing Rio-Niterói Bridge, keep to the left to Rio Bonito, and then to the right to Via Lagos in Araruama-Cabo Frio direction (Lakes Region). At the end of Via Lagos, keep going a distance of 5km to an Ipiranga gas station, at the entrance of São Pedro da Aldeia. Then, take RJ-106 Road to Macaé-Búzios. After driving 14km, turn right and go ahead for about 10 minutes to get to Búzios.
the North of the State, the option is BR-101 Road. Take the entrance to Rio das Ostras and drive 56km to Búzios.
Airplane: Búzios Airport receives regular flights Guarulhos Airport, in São Paulo State, or Santos Dumont, in Rio de Janeiro State – all Fridays and Sundays, in multi engine aircrafts, last generation turbolet, LET-410 E-20 model, for 19 passengers. Private and non-regular aircrafts use Umberto Modiano Airport, also in Armação dos Búzios.
Sea: Marina Porto Búzios offers a sophisticated structure to receive boats safely. For just filling up, a good option is Veleiro Port, at Armação Beach.
